A Tennessee Probate Court, located in Shelby County, is switching to a four day work week, beginning August 1, 2008. Additionally, some of the employees will work a rotating schedule, in order to allow for an extra day off each week. However, the court will remain open and functioning five days a week.

Washington State Expands Probate Rights for Domestic Partners

A new law signed by Governor Chris Gregoire would extend the rights of domestic partners living in Washington state. The new law has provisions allowing domestic partners to claim many of the legal benefits given to married couples, including those associated with probate, trusts, powers of attorney, and others.
