The NAEPC Foundation and the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils have declared that the third full week of October each calendar year is now going to be the National Estate Planning Awareness Week. Estate planning is consistently seen as one of a number of things that the majority of American households lacks.
The two organiztions have teamed up to encourage their network of more than 200 affiliated local estate planning councils to present focused Estate Planning Day programs. This year, the week falls between October 20th and October 26th.
It has been revealed that 58% of Americans do not have a will. This is considered to be the first document in someone’s estate plan.
If you are lacking a will or other crucial part of an estate plan, contact the Austin probate lawyers of Slater & Kennon at 512-472-2431 to set up an appointment to go over the basics of what everyone needs.
